Shaving Cream on the Windows

If you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time, you’ll know that I LOVE shaving cream as a creative learning outlet.:)  It’s got a moldable texture.  You can smear it, spread it, write in it, and it’s pretty easy to clean up.  So yesterday, I decided to try something a little different.

Shaving cream on the window!

She learned that she can make things stick to the window.

Heavy ones slide down and make a smear.  We’ll call that her first lesson in gravity and viscosity.;)

Light things just stick without sliding.

It was a very successful play idea, except that I should have put her in her very grubby clothes before we started.  The shaving cream got everywhere, and it didn’t ruin her clothes or anything, but she couldn’t very well stay in those clothes. So I had to put her grubbies on after.  Lol, she has more than 2 sets of clothes, but between packing for a NZ trip, dealing with a FL cold snap and just plain growing too fast, her sets of clothes are a little limited just now.:)

While I was wiping off the window and floor, I gave her a pan of water with a cloth to wash the foam toys that she had been playing with.

Next thing I knew, she was IN the pan of water.

Lesson number two: take socks off before you get anywhere near water.

In the end, it was definitely something I will do again.  I’m so thankful for our house full of tile floors.  Next time I will definitely consider her clothing first.:)

Do you have a favorite messy game/craft?
